had my powerbook smashed and grabbed from car last night (mother ****ers), along with all of my university work which is due in 3 weeks, 3 assingments. im a arts student so you can imagine the amount of work....
first time in 1 year i have left the laptop in the car (fully alarmed, never went off) got home at 3am, and by 7am when i went to leave for uni, it had gone....

anyway, for new zealand users, if you come across a shady looking deal for a 15inch powerbook combo 1.5ghz 1.5gb ram, latest revision, please let me know. im going to be checking trade me etc but anothr pair of eyes on the lookout would be great.

on a positive note, hopefully the new powerbooks get released soon....

sorry, had to get it out,
thanks

Check ebay also. I went there looking for a PB a few weeks ago. Lots of them listed there - most of them scams.

Does anyone here use LapCop?

It sounds reasonable, I think.

Do you remember the PowerBook's serial number? Maybe you have the original box there…

Maybe this could help you.

im in auckland.

the cops have my serial number and so does apple new zealand. so if they try and sell it, it will show up on the police database.

yea i have backups but not off my current work, which is a pain, btu there isnt much to re-do, and as usual, insurance companies are arseing about.

Don't forget to check out your local pawn shops.... Just tell 'em you're looking to buy a used PowerBook..... Most pawn shops are reputable but there are the ocassional scammers who have less than gold hearts....
