so a few weeks ago my HD died, and i had to dis and re assemble my PB 12" to replace it. my internal speakers were working fine afterwards. ive been using external speakers since, and now all of a sudden i have no sound from my speakers... ive rebooted, etc. the headphone jack still works. could i have missed something when i reassembled?

The speakers did work or didn't after your repairs? Sorry, your post wasn't clear.

If they did work, check Preferences > Sound to see if the speakers might be stuck on the external setting (I had that happen once with the Soundsticks on an underpowered USB hub following sleep).

If not, your repair job may call for a repair job.

after following a suggestion on another board, ive found that plugging and unplugging the headphones 3 or 4 times switched the sound control panel back to "internal speakers"

i guess i got some dust in the port or somethings a millimeter off in there
