I had a wireless VGA transmitter receiver, but sent it back. now I just use VGA. The living room is above garage with has exposed joists to allow easy access, wire is run in grout lines to cabinet on sides (as well as speaker wires, wires to DVD playeer, Tivo(Direct TV receiver, etc.)
I loved the wireless, but it was $800 and wasn't worth it.
I have wireless internet & printing (old HP 5050n laser) and also have 2 external firewire drives under recliner.

DVI doesn't carry as far as standard VGA.
I thought about using Apple Remote Desktop wirelessly to control an Old 450 G4 desktop that is sitting in limbo in closet.

As this is my first post, what better way to introduce myself than by posting pictures of my set up?
- PowerBook 17" / 1 GHz / 1 GB RAM
- Apple Wireless Keyboard
- Logitech MX700 Cordless Optical Mouse
- LaCie d2 DVD±RW / 16x
- iPod / 3G / 20 GB
- Sony Ericsson T630
I use the Sony Ericsson T630 in conjunction with Salling Clicker to control iTunes and QuickTime Player. The PowerBook is connected up to my TV and amplifier for listening to music and watching videos. I mostly use it for professional video editing, but it doubles up as a home computer.
(The ugly SmartDisk CrossFire hard drive doesn't belong to me - it's on loan for an editing job)

Thanks! I've actually been lurking for well over a year, so it doesn't feel like I'm new to the board!

Me being the slighty O.C.D. person I am I hate having the ports on the sides, it creates so much desk clutter, anyone else agree?

If it were a permanent desk fixture I would agree with you, but if you are constantly unplugging it to take it on a trip then I like the sides far better.
Now, if Apple had the foresight to add a docking station then I would agree with you and the side ports wouldn't be needed.

Well here it is after 2 years . I didn't plan to put a track on the desk and may not keep it there but was bored. Out of the box it fit, cars clear the iCurve by less than a millimeter. Note the controllers under the desk. Gotta prop up the overhang or get another Jerker and extend the track.
Now if I could devise a USB lap counter and timer LOL. Problem is I'm probably switching to a PowerMac with a 20" but now I'm not so sure hehe.

I'd be afraid of a car wreck which the Mini flew off of the track and hit my powerbook puncturing my 15" LCD!!!! EEK!
Hehe thats clever though

Well, I bought my 12" Powerboook last month and I'm loving it.
It replaces my 12" iBook, and with the exception of a shorter battery life, it is a much better machine.
lighter, faster, smaller, brighter screen.
I was initialy hoping for a 12"/13" intel 'book to be announced at macworld, but it wasn't.
We needed a new laptop in the house so that my fiance could use it at school, so I went ahead and bought the PB, giving her the iBook.
Now we're both happy.
here is an example of my home setup, for when I'm not at school or work, which seems is most of the day....

@mrurmil - Sorry if this is a very noob question, but I've noticed a couple of people with those cloths on top of their keyboards, is that what the system was shipped with, or is that a seperate purchase?
Just wondering what it's for
