Powermac desktop icons on the left

i want my powermac icons to arrange themselves down the left side of my desktop like a windows pc.
is there a way to do this?

Get accustomed to how Mac OS X works, that MacNN has software forums and that it is a bad idea to want Mac OS X behave like Windows.
That said, take a look at Macosxhints.com, they have pretty good knowledge.

Um...you realize you can just drag them over there, right? I do the same thing when I get a new PC at work.

Activate snap to grid in the Desktop view preferences to have them align evenly before (or after) you drag them there.

icons will stay there after dragging but every time i reboot the hdd icons re-align to the right side
|

Hmm, if no one else has any solutions, you could simply create aliases of your drives and turn off the display of your Hard Drives in the Finder Preferences. Move the aliases to the left.

Ive got no icons at all on my desktop. I dont see the need in them, every app is want is there in the dock, all my docs are in their folders. No need for icons on the desktop.
