I love the mag safe cord, but it is way too short. They need to offer some way to extend it.

did you use the built in extender? slide the corner of the rounded-adapter-thing that actually has the plug off, and then the extension cord slides on in that spot. together i'd estimate that they're 3m or so, which is plenty long.
the extension cord was also in the box with your MBP, just for the record.

I love it. Call me simple for enjoying something so trivial, but it really is cool, imaginative, and safer. The first few times it pulls out of its socket (on accident), though, you really come to appreciate it.

Wish they had invented this a year back, my dad tripped over my pb cord draggin it straight to the ground, now I have a dent in my book.

I've never had my PowerBook pulled to the floor, but I did manage to destroy the cord on one power adapter by accumulated trip-overs. Not only will MagSafe prevent that problem but the cord is thicker so it should last longer in normal use.
