Is there any way to upgrade directly from FCP 1.2.5 to FCP 3? It seems like FCP2 came and went so fast, before you knew it, FCP3 was here. Do I need to get FCP2 first? What is the best route for that? E-Bay?
Thanks

There is no need to buy the 2.0 version as the 3.0 is complete, you also get QuickTime pro so don't buy that either.
Onr last thing when you install leave the CD in there for the FCP 3 version as the program looks for that when you first lauch the it.

Tom, thanks for the info, but I don't think I made myself clear the first time around. Can I upgrade to FCP 3 from FCP 1.2.5 without purchasing the full $1000 version; ie, can I just pay the upgrade fee without first upgrading to FCP 2?

Yes, purchasing the Upgrade package will work fine. I have done the same thing from 1.2.1 actually.

You're absolute right on that. FCP 2 was out for only 9 months before FCP 3 was released.

Is there a way to install FCP3 without first installing a previous version?
I'd rather not clutter up my drive ... just go straight from the upgrade CD.
Thanks!

You need the old one on the hard drive then just through it away when the new one loads....
