My 2.0G MBP is on its way, need to upgrade the RAM. I have checked curcial.com they have different memory for 1.83G and 2.0G.

For 2.0G:
$157.99 CT511220

For 1.83G
$142.19 CT500626

What is the difference between those two? Can I buy the one for 1.83G but use it for my 2.0G MBP?

Thanks!!!

No one cares about newbies... Anyway, called crucial, the sales lady said they are the same. The price is not $137.00

I see $162 for the 2.0 and $137 (on sale) for the 1.83. I'm not sure why they have a sale only for the 1.83, but it should work fine in a 2.0.

Very astute you are guys! I noticed this too! I was all ready to buy the RAM for the 2.16 for $167 and I was checking out ramseeker.com and noticed that it said $137! I did some comparison with the specs and noticed there wasn't any difference! I think they may have set up a different part number for the earlier 1.67 and 1.83 model and then a new one for the 2.0 and 2.16. I don't figure any other reason, but I'll take the $30 savings to the bank! Nice deal.

No, you do not void the applecare except if you damage your computer while or with the RAM.
I never heard of such a thing before.
