Forget the name caling and bickering.

The thing I can never understand is why so many Designers use Quark for what it is not intended for the Program is a page layout tool not a design tool.

Designers will make these beautiful illustrations and PhotoShop renderings Place everything in Quark send the file to a Print house and will not include the separate art files or the Type.

My absolute favorite is when a Designer Creates a large sign for some chain retail outlet that has a really nice graphic created in Illustrator and all the type says is Now $3.99 ( or something to that effect. They send it along and again no fonts no illustrator file just a packaged Quark doc.

Quark is for brochures, tabloids, Pamphlets and reports Not designs and illustrations.

As far as the logo it's ok to steal the logo because Quark is so user friendly !

I love installing quark and entering and 40 character activation code then the previous serial number and then calling or going to the web only to add another 40 character code. I really prefer calling so I can have even more fun trying to understand the person on the other end what number was that can you repeat that I'm sorry "B" no "V" no "E" no "D" no "P" Oh "3" I got it.

Sorry for interrupting the circle-jerk, but I think the new Quark logo is very good. It was an in-house design, as opposed to the one that was "stolen". That one was made by an ad-agency who should have known better.

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Conventional design wisdom would deem this logo to be crap. Swim further upstream in this thread and you'll see an outline of this position.
