it has disappeared off the face of my monitor. any idea where its gone? or who has it?

Have you reported it to the police ? theres a lot of this sort of thing going on at the moment.

Did the tool bar delete itself from the menu (Window / tools) if so you may need to delete your .plist ( User folder/ Lib/Preferences/com.macromedia.freehand.11.plist ) trash this file and restart freehand.

it didnt delete itself from the tools menu.
if it is checked in the tools menu, it still doesnt show up on the screen?
i have reinstalled freehand but it is still not working?

Try pressing f4. That brings them back for me every time... Seriously.
