Hi Y'all,

I am in search of a software that will manage job traffic that could be used on a Mac AND pc. I heard about this program Virtual Ticket, any of you guys use it? Any others? Thanks.

I'm building one because all the ones I tried out there lacked something.

The reason there isn't a silver bullet for this type of software is because any minutely close try will fit its market well but can't transfer to another business. Or the other businesses have slightly different ways for tracking projects.

The workflow functions in Adobe's PDF are being used by Quark and Adobe in their products can work for some people. But having a solution that integrates this info with a 'backend' system for customer data and tracking is what I believe is the missing link.

Any place I've been has used a different system than the last for keeping track of their jobs (some to better benefit than others).

A home rolled option will satisfy you if you have the time to build it and integrate what existing processes you have. All I can say is make sure any system you have contains the ability to backup and restore information. You don't want to lose your business 'intelligence' through data loss.

heheheh the amount of billable hours I've spent of my agency's money on it I better.

but bluedog is right, traffiking solutions are so customized from place to place, I can't imagine one solution working perfectly everywhere.

I also, ended up making my own in Fliemaker, cuz others were either too expensive or lacked something I needed.
However, this one is pretty decent:
