For my finals, I decided I'd try something new. I went to the doctor and got myself a prescription for Ritalin (paid by the State). I've had slight ADD since I was born, but I guess it never affected my performance at school.
I have to say it works really well, even if you notice the effects after you're back to baseline. It helps concentrate, it's a good tool if you're in a rush, basically. It gives you increased mental clarity and, yes, it's true that I'm able to process information faster and better. You will also be a lot more social and talkative. Nothing psychedelic.
The effects are very, very subtle and it's hard to feel them. But in the long run, you will see a change in efficiency.
I will be careful not to become dependant... but it's definitely worth a try if you're in an unusual rush.

Why didn't you just buy amphetamines? Basically the same effect/thing.....

I started a thread a while ago about this, it got ugly.
But I agree, Adderal and Ritalin can make you a super-studier. The coming down effects are pretty bad though....and may actually counter-act all the work you did while you were "high"

Well, IIRC Adderall (amphetamine salts) has been banned from Canada after a number of sudden deaths.
Ritalin is pretty similar to amphetamines.
I have felt no come down effects at all. The biggest dose I've taken is 30 mg at once.
No, amphetamines are not illegal. You can have them prescribed.
