Has anyone done this?
I'm thinking of buying a Macbook w. stock 5400 HD and replacing it with a 100Gig 7200drive.
I have been running a 7200 Hard drive in my 133Gz PB 17" for a few years and it had been Sweet to have the extra speed.
Also, do the new RAM slots Max out at 2Gigs (2x1G)?
Thanks,
JB

The RAM slots don't max out at 2 Gigs, there's just no one offering a 2G stick yet. So currently, yes, you max out at 2 Gigs, but you can later upgrade to 4 when bigger chips come out.

They're available, just fabulously expensive.

Still, Great to know that it is possible down the line.
The 7200 Hard Drive can be done - I just wonder about overheating

7200 rpm drives don't suck that much more power or make that much more heat than a 5400. Just be sure to get a SATA instead of a ATA drive like in the PowerBooks.
