And perhaps no need for 9.x for owners of older machines. I have a beige G3 desktop. I don't need USB drivers, and I don't think it supports fire wire either, but I'm not sure. (The 9.2 article mentions both.)

Maybe the next thing is a free download of 8.5 which can be upgraded to 8.6?
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.

I doubt that as 8.5 is still widely used and viable, and Apple want to milk it for all its worth (which is their right, of course).

Even OS 7.61 still isn't free yet
