I've got some footage that I want to put on my computer, however the only way of connecting it is via USB (the camcorder only has mini USB). However when I plug it in the mac fails to pick up any sort of connection. Is is possible to capture using this method and if so, how!? Many thanks for any help.

what camcorder has usb-only????
every miniDV has a firewire/iLink connector, you probably have to buy (~3$) a 4/6pin fw cable...
