Has anyone seen this effect?

I have a G4 Sawtooth upgraded to 1 GHz, with USB 2.0 PCI card, SATA PCI card (system booting off attached drive), running latest system and updates. Whenever I connect my nano to the machine for charging and the computer goes to sleep, I am unable to wake the machine. I end up having to restart the machine, which brings up a screen asking me to restart again. After that everying is ok until I connect the nano again. This doesn't happen with a G3 ipod hooked up via firewire.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Neil
