Mel Gibson, Chad Kroeger, Charlie Major

Last month: John Ventimiglia, Mindy McCready, Caprice

This is the second time for old Mel. Got off too easy the first time. If convicted, I hope the sentencing judge remembers Toronto, 1984.

Gibson was charged with impaired driving in Toronto in 1984, when the vehicle he was driving failed to stop at a red light and struck another vehicle.

An Ontario judge later dropped the impaired driving charge, fining him $300 and suspending his driving privileges in the province for three months.

While I would tend to agree about a second-timer DUI (Mel) can a US judge hold an offense over someone who comitted said offense in another country? I'm not being arguementative, just asking....'cause I don't know.

The impaired driving charge was dropped so no conviction on it so no. Had he been found guilty im pretty sure that could be admissible in a US court.

I'm surprised there aren't loads more posts in here...

There are SO many DUIs in Hollywood...

Remember when Matthew Broderick was driving drunk in Ireland and killed a girl?

Not sure because of the statute of limitations on DUI in most states. If I'm not mistaken, many states reset the clock on DUI after about 10yrs (e.g. after 10yrs, another DUI is considered a "first offense" again). Given that there was a 22 year gap between 1984 and 2006, I can't imagine that his last DUI would count against him even if it had been in the US.

Tracey Gold (Growing Pains) after drinking and rolling her SUV at 11:50 pm 9/3/04. Her husband and 2 of her sons (ages 5 and 4 months) were relatively ok but her 7 year old had a head laceration and broken clavicle. She was charged with DUI
