lack of Monitor control Panel in 9.1

ok, installed the update....
now I can't open the Monitor Contro Panel! an error comes of that says it can't find the "AppleGuideGluelib".... well I did the update on my laptop that can open the control panel and doing a search I can't find that file on the PB hard drive!
any ideas? I've re-installed the update already and no go still

Make sure you have the Apple Guide extension enabled and loaded.

Thanks that worked....
but my resolutions are very limited!!
I have a G3 450 with the ATI 128pro...
my best resolution on my 21" is 1280 X 1024 @ 60hz with the show all resolutions option on.
any suggestions?
I already have a head ache from the flicker.....

Try Deleting your "Display Preferences" and zapping the PRAM.

nope, that didn't work....
I have a second ATI VR 4mb video card but it seems to act as the number 1
and it has a lot more options for res

Ok Switch Res (something I got from another thread) gave me the posiblity of more and higher resolutions but at a lower Hz.... which gives more flicker (my eyes still hurt from a full day of 60hz)
I need to run 1280 X 1024 @ 75hz.... not 60 or 50
is there any other fixes out there?

well, the refresh rate is a feature of your graphics card not the OS...the OS might not show you all resolutions but SwithRes does...so if you want to do better consider getting a new graphics card. My Radeon does 1280x1024 at 75Hz without a hitch.

well your some what right but I know what resolutions I had before OS 9.1 and I know what I have now... not the same
And I do have a ATI 128 pro (with 16MB of video ram), it's just one generation down from what you have and is still sold in some macs or was until recently...
I also know that I'm not the only person to have this problem based on other threads... the only thing I haven't done since finding this problem that others have is regress to 9.04!
come on Apple get with it...

You might want to try updating/downgrading your drivers. It might be possible that Mac OS 9.1 installed a new set of drivers which prevents you from using the resolutions previously available.
I have a stock ATI Rage Pro 128 16MB SDRAM that came with my Power Mac G4/400, and I've not seen any loss in available resolutions in my updated system.
