There's no live streaming, The Apple Blog has live coverage, but half of the internet is there right now so it's taking forever to load.

... okay... um... WHY? This is apple. They have a userbase that has quicktime and h.264 codecs. They have bandwidth.... they have the technology. Why isn't there a live stream? I think that's kinda shitty actually. When vista gets released you know there will be live streams.

This is a developer's conference that people pay to go to. You want to see it? Fork out the money. You want to know what happens? Read a live update. And if this many people are bogging down a text-based update, do you know how much bandwidth would be required to keep these thousands of people on a live stream? It's not free you know.

Streaming available after the keynote is over. No live streaming.
Bush Tax Cuts == Job Killer
June 2001: 132,047,000 employed
June 2003: 129,839,000 employed
2.21 million jobs were LOST after 2 years of Bush Tax Cuts.

Didn't people pay to go to those? I don't understand how 3 years ago they had live streams, but now, with faster macs, faster connections, and better codecs we no longer have live streaming. Ladies and gentlemen, this, does not make sense!

Yep.... Jesus is a fan of south park!

It's not that Apple is not capable of doing it. They just don't want to.

Why ? Because they can.

It's not about the speed of Macs, it's about the cost of bandwidth. They don't have to pay for a bunch of freeloaders to hear about it live, so they won't.

But they used to.... .so why did they pay for it then and not now? What has changed? If anything, it would be better to do now!

I'm betting that more people would be streaming it now, which means more wasted money for them. Like everyone else has said, if you want to see the show, go to the show. If you want to know what happened, either read about it or wait for them to release the video.

Any ramblings are entirely my own, and do not represent those of my employers, coworkers, friends, or species

Nah, the bandwidth argument is dumb. How is a live stream so much more bandwidth intense than a download. It has other reasons.
