Will they put the new 64 bit Merom(sp?) in the iMacs?

One of the Core 2 Duo chips is likely to appear in the iMac very soon.

aren't the iMacs socketed processors? could you buy a Merom chip and put it in? I know it would void any warranty, just wondering.

And yes, you will be able to put Merom into the iMac's socket. It's actually already been done. Not Conroe however.
