I have a Cingular 8125 phone which is a complete PocketPC phone, not just a smartphone. A couple years ago I had a Palm OS phone but switched to PocketPC. My question, can this be synced with a Mac? I haven't been able to find a version of ActiveSync for the phone and really don't want to have to switch back to Palm. In a worse case scenario I will use parallels or bootcamp and just still use Outlook to sync with this phone.

What PurpleGiant said-though I'd have labeled the link "Missing Sync" for clarity. When my MacBook Pro comes in, I'm getting this so I can continue to use my venerable Axim X5 PDA, which is also a PocketPC device.

Sounds great! It's probably even better than what Microsoft offers (ActiveSync)

I'd actually recommend - if you can - sign up for an account at an Exchange Hosting site like 4SmartPhone.net - you can sync over the air via GPRS on your 8125. Then on the Mac use Entourage. Works great.

Or use GroupCal and AddressBook's own Exchange server synching. Or Missing Sync

Missing Sync is decent, but it's not as good as ActiveSync at a few things (for example, installing apps). Also, keep in mind if you have recurring tasks (to-dos) on your phone, they won't sync properly with iCal. This is more a reflection of Apple's obstinacy in refusing to add support for recurring tasks in iCal than anything else, though.

I sync with Missing Sync 2.5.1 and a Cingular 8125. Works great with USB (faster too), oddities with Bluetooth.
