I recenetly downloaded two img files but am having some trouble opening them. I've tried shrinkwrap, and disc copy. For some reason both files are identified as PC files. I was not aware that you could create a PCimg. Any ideas on how I can open these or change them to a mac format? Running OS 9.0.4

I'm surprised that disk copy won't open them.....

Do you have Toast? If so just open the file in toast and mount the disc image.

Toast will not recognize the files, they don't even show up as options when I look in the folder for them.

Where did you download from?

.img files require that they have a resource fork to open. If you downloaded them straight off the Internet without any form of compression or encoding, they are unusable.

I downloaded the files from hotline. Additionally I cannot open the files on a PC either.

Not necessarily.

Was the Hotline server a PC server? If so, you're screwed.

If not, well, then you're probably screwed anyway and they're corrupted.

Both servers were mac servers. I guess I'll just have to suck it up. thanks anyway

The file type of .img files should be rohd. The creator type should be ddsk. Did you check that?

Hack3006, open ResEdit, open your file with "Get file/folder Info..." from the "Edit" menue.
