Hi.
Me and my friend have got into claymation, and are going to take the frames at school. I would then like to bring it home, and make it into an animaton. I have looked at all the good software and found that they only take frames from the camera. And since my friend lives about an hour away, and he is very busy, we never really get together that much ,only at school. And also my camera can act as a webcam, but there are no drivers for mac (but i can take the pictures of off it).
So, does anyone know of some free/open source programs that can do the job for me? I have looked at a few, but they can't take frames from a folder of images. I have tried the imovie method, but that is to slow.
Thanks in advance.
(BTW: I'll post them here when they are made.)

Look into BTV Pro. It's a firewire camera application that can 'stack frames' do motion sensing, and take frames every n seconds. I've used it for stop motion animation, and it's great because you don't HAVE to touch the camera at all, so no slight movements induced by that!. I think it's around 40 bucks or so. Not free..... but not expensive.

yes i looked at that, but as i said, my camera isnt a mac webcam, and wont work on any of these. BTV pro has an option that can convert images into a movie, but it lacks all the features.

You mean you have a digital still camera, not a DV cam?

yes. that can act as a webcam, but not a mac-compatible one.

Anyway, if you number the photos sequentially, Quicktime Pro will stitch them into a movie.

resize (windows and mac) will also batch rename them with numbering too if you don't want to do it by hand. (and you can resize, change resolution, etc)

I think you should use Shake. It'll put all your frames together, AND you can color correct, composite, roto, track motion, stabilize....

iMovie 6 can do time lapse photography. If you can pose your characters at a constant rate, it should be possible to use iMovie.
