I have recently been having problems with quitting iChat. The program works fine during normal use, but when I try to quit it on my 15" MBP, it uses an entire core for about a minute before it finally turns off.

I checked Library --> Preferences for the iChat plist, but did not find an iChat one.

What should I do?

i've noticed that certain other applications do this, but not iChat on my machine. for example. when i shut down thunderbird, it does not always shut down immediately, but pauses for several seconds before doing so.

Do you have any 3rd party iChat hacks and patches installed?
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

Yeah, come to think of it, I had Chax installed. I upgraded it to the latest version and now my iChat works perfectly.

Thanks folks.
