apple menu not displaying hiererchial menus

I used to have hierarchial menus in my apple menu but they seem to have disappeared. Like when i used to go to the control panels then it would list them in another pane but now they appear in a separate menu. anywway around this? thanks.

Apple Menu Options is the buggiest control panel Apple includes with the Mac OS. Delete the preference file and restart your computer.

I too have experienced this and just restarting has always fixed it, perhaps you should try that first.

Yes, get FinderPop . You will be happy that you may pay the pintware fee if you like it. 
(Of course, since it's a pintware you don't have to...)

I find Action Utilities' Action Menus is a great solution, it will handle your problem w/ the Apple menu - and them some. It handles the Hierarchy issue for you and adds other functions like being able to drag and drop items in the Apple menu that you want to add to your Apple menu, move files via drag/drop to folders in your Apple menu and drag/drop files onto applications in your Apple Menu. It as other nice additions like the ability to easily add seperators in your Apple menu.
Beyond the Apple menu it allows you to add other menus to your menu bar, like mounted volumes (with hierarchical drop down menu navigation) recently used apps. folders and/or documents.
It's really improved my Finder interaction a lot.
