Ive recently started having problems with the hard disk spinning down whilst I am still using the machine. At first I really didnt think much of it as I was only using chat at the time but when it happened during me reinstalling the system software to try and sort this problem out I got rathere concerned ! Any ideas anyone ?

What machine are you using (desktop, portable)? Have you checked your Energy Saver settings? I am certainly no expert, but if this happened while you were reinstalling, after having re-booted from another system source, the issue might be more involved than just the Energy Saver...

Someone here ought to know...
