Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new macbook which of course comes with 10.4. I want to clean install 10.4 on my g5 which is currently running 10.3. My question is, is it possible to use my macbook's startup disc to install onto my g5? This might be a real stupid question, so let me apologize in advance.

Thanks for the advice!

1. The disk that came the the MacBook is system specific.
2. The MacBook is Intel. The G5 is PPC.
3. One license. One computer. It is illegal to use the same license on multiple computers.

Try and see. I'm pretty sure it won't work, but whatever.

i just got an old imac g3, and I was curious (i have a copy of 10.3 that I intended to use) so I tried installing the macbook version of tiger. The installer won't allow it because it will only install to GUID partitioned disks, and the iMac needs an APM partitioned disk. I didn't even bother to make a disk image and restore onto an APM volume because I was pretty sure the intel/ppc differences would prevent it from working anyways...
