NHS hospitals are to be allowed to advertise to attract patients for the first time under a marketing code to be published by the Department of Health.

so the NHS is in debt up to its eyeballs, can't afford drugs for patients, gives stupid waiting times like 12 years and actually sends patients abroad for treatment 'cause it's so messed up - so given those circumstances spending money on advertising makes so much sense.
