help getting surround sound in windows

	I can't seem to get surround sound to work in windows (under boot camp). When I plug in my home theater system via optical in OS X, I get 5.1 sound on DVDs, etc. The same doesn't seem to happen in WinXP. Any advice?
	15" MBP, 2.33 GHz C2D, 120GB HD, 2 GB RAM, OS X 10.4. 4GB iPod Nano.
