The VERY BEST THING IN THE WORLD for an infant is to BREASTFEED until completely weaned. Mother provides immune factors, EXACTLY the right mix of vitamins, fats, proteins and calories, it's perfectly digestible and it's what baby's are made to drink (and what those pretty things on mom's chest are there for). Unfortunately, a very, very few babies CAN'T drink their mother's milk for a variety of un-good reasons. In that case, soy is a better alternative than cow's milk, whose proteins are significantly different from human milk proteins, whose fat content is all wrong, and which does not include any human immune factors.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. The children who are getting soy formula are the ones young enough to be nursing, even if they aren't actually nursing.
