I'm having troubles connecting to my wireless network with my iMac. No problems using my windows laptop however and no problems seeing it with the iMac, just cannot connect. I've even gone as far as removing all wireless security and still can't connect. I've tried the "$" and quote techniques as well. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you connect using an ethernet cable? I've recently had this issue and had to set up all my network settings manually and disable DHCP. Mine was working fine for months and it just stopped working when I changed nothing. Others report the same thing so maybe something in 10.4.8 is messed up.

rudyshoe, could you tell us what your other network hardware is? That can make a BIG difference in how to approach the problem.

And as iMacYouMac asks, can you connect wired?

No problems connecting via wire.

I'm connecting to an all in one Westell VersaLink Modem/Router supplied by Verizon.

Will try disabling DHCP and manually entering in IP info this evening to see where that gets me.

Thanks~

Before you go into your Mac's settings, TURN THE ROUTER/MODEM OFF. Let it sit for AT LEAST TWO MINUTES (TIMED!!!). After that, turn it back on and then try to renew your Mac's DHCP address. This may not help, but it just might, and that would save you a lot of trouble.

ALWAYS TRY A RESTART OF YOUR ENTIRE NETWORK SETUP BEFORE GOOFING AROUND WITH ANY SETTINGS. That's "Glenn's First Law of Network Troubleshooting" and you (everyone) should remember it all the time.
