And just yesterday people were bemoaning the lack of a Universal Binary. I guess Alsoft really pays attention to these forums.

DW is not that expensive. It's a $100 app that can save thousands if your disk were to become so corrupted as to need manual recovery.
DW should be a required purchase for every Mac user.

So... is DiskWarrior useful for preventative maintenance?
I've got a B&W G3 (10.3.9) headless file server that sometimes has "System Preferences" quite during a manual Macaroni job run. Also, rarely (very rarely), I'll try to connect to it with "Connect to Server..." and it won't happen. Nothing a reboot hasn't fixed.
But, I'm wondering if this is something troubling (though the S.M.A.R.T. on the boot drive and the second internal drive both say "Verified").
So, would DiskWarrior be a good tool to check with... or is it for when you cannot access the drive and the S.M.A.R.T. says something else?
Thanks,
BD

Yeah, it doesn't hurt to run DW once in a while to make sure your disk is in good shape. Little glitches in the file system can eventually turn into big ones if they're not repaired. It also optimizes the file system directory, which gives a nice little speed boost too.
