Hello, I'm currently planning on getting a MacBook Pro soon and I need advice.

I apologize if this has been done before, but what would be better:

Matte or Glossy? And why?

Thank you so much.

Instructions:

1) Use "Forum Jump" menu below to go to appropriate forum ("Powerbook & MacBook PRO").

2) Click "Search this Forum" link at top of page.

3) Enter "matte glossy" in the text field and hit return.

Short version:
Graphics pro? then matte.
Otherwise - glossy unless you like matte better.

Personal preference, but I went with the Matte screen. It is best in most lighting condition, the colors I hear match more to real life than glossy. There's a great thread on this over the pb/mbp forum.

Glossy

Looks better, doesn't have any grainyness problems, and doesn't washout when outdoors.

I read through all the threads and most are useless.
I even compared the screens at a Best Buy and I found the glossy to reflect the overhead lights too much.
BUT I went with glossy - it's so much better for everything. I don't have any issues with colour accuracy, and the reflections are rarely an issue. It also works much better outdoors, since incoming light is not diffused but reflected instead.

people say that the glossy screens on the macbook/macbook pro are not as reflective as those found on pcs (apple waited until the technology had improved)
