My hard drive took a crap, and now I have to replace it. Suprisingly apple is really vague about what kind of drive I can use. I'm assuming any SATA drive 7200 will do?

Normally I'd buy off a mac specific site just to be safe but this is through my work so I have to go through cdw...

thanks

Stick with any SATA-1 hard drive and you will be fine. I don't believe SATA-2 drives are compatible.

Yes, they are. Any SATA 2 drive (you're supposed to say SATA 3.0 Gbps or SATA/300, with the old one being SATA 1.5 Gbps or SATA/150, but I don't know anyone who does) will fall back to the older standard and work in your iMac.
