Depends what a morph could look like. It could generate a thumbnail by the side of the dialogue box. Anyway, you should know what you're trying to save!

Think of photoshop open with 10 documents. If you choose to quit photoshop it will ask you for each document if you want to save it at which time you review the window contents.
Now in the same situation if they morphed you would have a bunch of tiny windows with only a thumbnail.
Or if you hit the red button in the window bar when it is unsaved you don't want the whole window to morph and scare the hell out of you wondering where your 10 page word doc went?
Not to mention sometimes I hit save but either walk away for a second or answer the phone. I don't see any plus' in having the window morph and hide the content over a sheet which is even transparent and tied to the document.

I used to post here from 2000-2004. 2005-2006 was drinking time. Been drunk so long I can't remember my name and password. I'm going to the bar now...

That's pretty lightweight next to some of the 100+ posts a day members here.

But those were in spurts. I'm talking about a sustained posting rate over three months, as officially reported in my user profile.
This was without posting at nights or on weekends.

I remember one of the mods mentioning Zimphire had 120+ posts a day on a consistent basis.

Perhaps if it had been written down along with other things you planned on doing today it would have been easier to remember. That group of things could be ordered and neatly written in a vertical fashion...someone's probably done this before, but I'm not sure what they called it.

I don't buy it... I'd definately have less respect for Apple if this is the case... I don't give two shizzams about Vista (although I appreciate some folks may do... *sigh*)!
All I want is Leopard and the next rev. portables, grrr.

It's a bogus article. By being the only site to report that story they want to get lots of linkbacks and readers and Adsense clicks. The writer doesn't have a clue about Boot Camp. You guys should edit your posts and remove the link to their article in this thread to teach DigiTimes a lesson.

If anything i don't think it would because of Vista but because non of the dev builds have shown all those "Secret features" yet and everything is still incredibly buggy without them.

I think it's kind of hard to tell, considering we've seen nothing of it, yet, beyond what little has been up on Apple's site for months.

Well it is running a version of leopard so as the story says they had to take leopard programmers working on 10.5 and help them rush the iPhone to market first because it will make way more money anyway.

You might have missed that the phone is actually running an operating system.
And the fundamental similarity: Both take lots and lots of people, time, and money to develop. All of which are in finite supply, even at a large company like Apple.
Most employees have fairly fundamental needs - sleep, food, and family - while most days I've encountered have only 24 hours (some considerably less, IIRC).

I'm doing fine with Tiger. Considering how frequently OSX is updated, I can stand waiting 7 months to pay up for Leopard. I don't mind, since I know they're doing everything they can to make it what we hope it will be.
Or maybe I'm just too patient.

Indeed. I'm doing fine with Tiger too. Admittedly I'm a bit annoyed at how I'm running into VM snags with my hardcore workflow on a Mac Pro, it's not something I can't wait another six months for. So, meh.

I sorta understand why.
With something like OSX you can't just bring in new people and in no time have them up to speed on everything and just "helping out". There is a huge learning curve that the current OSX programmers would have to take them through and that wastes time.
Apple has very good people working on the OS for years and know it in and out. It is smarter to put these people on the iPhone OS to get it done in time for the highly publicized June release date.
Also OSX will make some good money, but the iPhone will make a ton more along with more press.
It sucks but I am happy to know we will at least see the near final form of OSX at WWDC. I think it is interesting though that there is 4 months before they ship this "near final" build which makes me think when they do show this build at WWDC the delayed release date will have more to do with DEVELOPERS being the ones that need to take time to make their apps work with some fancy new features in 10.5 (like a new fancy GUI).
With OS8, OSX and OSX for intel Apple had to keep things secret from developers until it became public and then after showing the near complete OS told developers they had X number of months to get their apps compatible.
Sometimes it went well like the move to Universal apps but other times it goes really slowly like when OS 7.5.x apps ran on OS8 they didn't look like OS8 apps but still had the OS7 black and white look. Lets not even talk about how long it took Photoshop and Quark to move to OSX.
