Hi there
i currently have a Mac Pro with 2x 250 gb HD
1. 250gb has 52 gb of free space
2nd 250gb has 12 gb free space left

is there a certain number where one should not go below as this might slow down the MP?

Thanks

Your drive should have at least 10% of it's capactiy free, so 25 GB, generally, for swap space.

Anything lower may degrade performance.

Of course, OSX swap space is generally only used on the boot drive
