Hello,
I have been using parallels on my Intel iMac for a while, no problems. Yesterday I got 3DS Max 9 32-bit and installed it without problems - no errors et cetera. Though now when I open the program the model space windows do not refresh, they only show the desktop.
Any comments would be much appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi,
Parallels doesn't support 3D acceleration which all 3D programs require. The best you can do is install XP through BootCamp.

Hi Silver,
I have Rhino and Catia both running perfectly well without any glitches...not sure if that is the problem - seems like a 3D Max specific issue.

He could try VMWare. VMWare supports 3D acceleration.

I use 3DS Max Rev 5 via Parallels and it works fine. I use the built-in HEIDI graphics drivers rather than OpenGL or Direct 3D.

Yeah, you have to switch the acceleration from hardware to Heidi at best or software at worst. On my Mac Pro, it still flies in software mode via Parallels - but I wouldn't use it for rendering.

Why would you use Parallels when VMware Fusion supports directX acceleration? It seems really stupid to not take advantage of something like this with 3D rendering.
