Gah. Stupid that it replaces the older version. I thought it would be like the WebKit install
I hope SAFT gets a speedy update. Just hacking the plist to support this build made Safari not want to start up

I'm liking the inline find, but does anyone know if there's a keyboard shortcut to follow a link once it's been found?

What is exactly new apart from inline find and resizable text fields? (and obvious engine improvements). UI-wise I feel crippled without SAFT

Works perfectly for yahoo mail, but then I don't have any Safari hacks installed. Signs in perfectly, works perfectly.
It seems really fast in the way it handles java. Must have optimized the engine! Fewer hangs, less SBODs.
Bodes well for Leopard.

Did you say earlier you were able to get into their beta mail and it didn't work right? I can't get past their browser sniffs even when changing the UA.

Finally, full support for the Blogger editor!
I'm really warming up to the draggable tabs. It's one of those features like tabbed browsing when it first appeared. Once you start doing it, you wonder why the heck every other browser doesn't have that feature.

Went back and read the quote of your original post on page one of this thread. It certainly doesn't mention that you're using a Yahoo beta mail app? Did I miss something?
So you're fussed about a Yahoo beta not working properly in a Safari beta? You are of course right: I went and hooked up to the Yahoo mail beta and it indeed didn't work. Hmm, just imagine, a beta not working in another beta?
So: my solution? Wait for it...wait for it...don't let the suspense get to you...I switched back to regular Yahoo mail! And, yes! that works!
So, you're saying that Leopard is borked because a Yahoo beta doesn't work? Can't say that I see the logic of that...

Many of these things will likely work, if you enable the Debug menu and tell it to spoof another browser.

I've got both versions of Safari on my MacBook. My neighbor, who stated our friendship as "I'm so happy I've found someone I can Apple-whore with", was SHOCKED when I showed him Safari running in Parallels (and the fact that I installed Parallels/Windows to begin with).

Anyone got Safari 3 running on Windoze 2000?
Anyways, Safari 3 under OS X works fine for me with Yahoo! Mail, but I'm not using that annoying beta.
Works fine with TD Canada Trust too.

Feels about as fast as the nightlies. I do like the draggable tabs, tho.

Pith helmet is an ad-blocker? Woah does Safari need that. Coming back to it from Firefox, I didn't realise how unbearable that had got.

Spellcheck has always been in Sarfari. Maybe it's turned on by default now (always should have been).

Yeah, that's nice.
I still don't get full extras support in the Yahoo! Mail editor though. It's there in Firefox.
And yeah, Safari 3 feels snappy.

I'm flabbergasted of all the people who just now discovered that Safari uses the built-in spell check as it has always done. And I'm not just talking about this forum.

Along with redoing the Apple Store webpage, they also redesigned the trailers website. Problem is, some trailers aren't playing in Safari 3.0
For example, La Vie en Rose (and many others) play just fine, but "I Am Legend" doesn't. The Oceans 13 teaser plays fine, but the trailer 2A doesn't. I'm not trying the HD trailers, just the large regular trailers.
I've reinstalled Quicktime, no luck.
Can someone else try those trailers and post back?

Just use CSS to do the blocking.
Download this:
http://www.gozer.org/mozilla/ad_bloc...serContent.css
And set it as your style sheet in the advanced tab. Voila, buh-bye ads. Well... 95% of them at least.

Faster. Better multithreading. Loving command+F/G. Some things to iron out.

This could be totally unrelated, but for some reason I get an iChat error after installing 3.0b:
"Join Failed: An error occurred while attempting to join the chat."
I have chax installed. Going to remove that.

So: disregard my previous post about some trailers not playing in 3.0--it's gotta be a database problem, they don't play in Firefox, either.

He notes in the blog that his company does not report vulnerabilities to Apple. His claimed catch for 'an afternoon of idle futzing': 4 DoS bugs and 2 remote execution vulnerabilities." Separately, within 2 hours Thor Larholm found a URL protocol handler command injection vulnerability that allows remote command execution.

What the hell is the technical reason for having to restart the computer after installing a damn web browser? I know that Mail uses Webkit, as does some other stuff, but restarting the entire f-ing OS? This is a Unix operating system you know...
I also was expecting that Safari would respect all CSS styles on form controls. This isn't the case.
Some good, some bad I guess...
Back to Firefox for me.

Microsoft Messenger is also crashing on me since installing the Safari beta. And that's crashes to error reporter from just closing chat windows, with no add-ins or anything. Any thoughts?

I figured it was common knowledge that the Yahoo! Mail beta has been out for over a year now and isn't really a beta at all.....
You can't see the logic? Yahoo! Mail is what is powering the iPhone, yet Apple can't even get safari to render their new mail page right.....
Oh, and that's right, the new Windows Live Mail will not work in full mode either, have to use light which still doesn't render properly.

Use this link:

It works, but has odd quirks and the rendering sucks. Also an annoying popup saying wrong version yada yada...

bust my google analytics widget when I uninstalled it.
Re-installed Safari 3 and the widget is working again.
Does seem to grab more memory than v2.
This is on a PB G4.

Seems a little faster and smoother. They also appear to have fixed a peculiar but very annoying flash video problem that I was having (which had driven me to Firefox). Love the text box re-sizing ability too. Nice.
There's still no need for brushed metal though.
