A friend wants to sell me a complete full version of CS3 Design premium, but is is a EDU edition, he told me thats no difference and that I can use it the same way I've been using my Photoshop CS2, I would like to have the complete suite, but $1,800.00 it's too much for me right now, the price he is giving me it's very atractive, so Please explain me the difference between this version and the other.

Speaking as a yearbook adviser, every program we buy is the academic version, when it is an option. There is NO difference between the programs. We have the academic versions of Adobe's Creative Suite and Final Cut Studio, among others.

Nooooooooo!!!!! He may be your friend, but he's trying to make a huge profit. The Adobe Master Collection, which includes EVERY app is only $999.00 USD via the Adobe education store. The bundle he wants to charge you for is only $599.

Dont let him get away with it. Regardless of how close a friend he may be, call him on it.

um, we don't know how much the friend is charging... and I'm assuming the OP can't buy EDU himself.

More importantly, you CANNOT use the Educational version for commercial use, as stated in the license. If you're reported, you could be served with a lawsuit.

If it's just for yourself, whatever, but be very careful if it's at a business.

The OP states 1800.00 is too much .... I guess thats what I assumed he was charging for it.

If you're eligable for edu, I'd go for it. Just DONT use it in any business environment.

I believe the $1800 refers to the regular retail price of the suite.

Other than what's been pointed out thus far, an EDU license cannot be transferred should you decide to sell it down the road.

That page is gone, what did it say? I just got the Design Premium collection for $299. Such a good deal I figured there must be a catch. So, what was said on that page?

it said that the student version it's a pro version that can be used for business and for education, the only difference it's that it doesn't came in the same box and the manuals are missing. If you can live with that = no problem.

Should I keep CS2 loaded for a while for any reason or just trash it?
