I recently upgraded my iMac C2D's ram to 2 gigs, and I am thinking of getting a macbook. If i got 1 gig of ram in the macbook (2X512mb), would I be able to swap one of the 1 gig chips from my iMac with one of the 512 chips in the macbook, so they would each of 1.5gigs of ram each? Or should i just spend more money and get another 2 gigs?

Yes and yes.

2GB is what, $45 these days? Compared to a $$$$ computer it's almost rounding error.

Really? Best I've seen for 2GB is $70. A slightly larger rounding error...

I guess that was just a temporary rebate deal at buy.com... but $70 compared to $1500 is pretty small.
