Use both and decide. Firefox has more features and add ons, Safari is more Mac like.

On a Mac Safari is better out of the box.

Personally, I prefer Safari (but I still keep Firefox around for the few sites that don't work with it). It depends if you want to expand your browser or keep it plain vanilla.

I used Firefox for the last year and a half but have recently switched back to Safari. It is more Mac Like and works better on certain web sites I go to, but Safari 3 seems to crash a little more often.

I also say try both for a while and decide for yourself.

there's also a mac intel/g5 specific build optimized for mac here: BeatnikPad: Forgetting to post since 1999.

There are also themes/addons to make your firefox more maclike

Speed wise, I think they're about the same. However I still keep safari as my default browser because it supports color profiling. That'll change when Firefox 3 comes out next year.

Like is the key term here. As I have yet to see a firefox addon that made it look and behave like Safari. If they did, I would move over to it in a second. But that would probably require them to change the way they render pages.

For the love of Pete! Do a search. There have been so many polls and threads on this topic. Your best bet is to try them both and decide for yourself. They're free after all.
