My kids want to play windows version of Warcraft III. Should they even bother with a MB or just get a windows laptop.

Why the Windows version? WC3 has always been a hybrid disk.
Are you talking about getting a new machine for this or using a MB that you already have? I think an existing MB would be fine, but getting a new one may or may not be, depending on what else the system will be used for.

5 year old game? Yea, the MacBook's 2 year old video card will be good to go.

No, not an existing machine.
My son is not too thrilled with the speed of the 1.6 Ghz iMac G5 (756 mb ram) for warcraft III, Mac version, and is skeptical the MB will be as fast as a Windoze laptop running the windoze version.
I told him the Macs now do windows, so he can have the best of both worlds. But I want to be sure that's true, first.

I doubt he will see a difference in WC3 running in either Mac or Windows on the same machine. Blizzard is almost anal about optimising their games for Mac, to the point where WoW can faster under OS X than on Windows on the same computer.

No too long ago, WC3 went the UB route. Running it in OSX should be just as fast as XP.

WC3 should really run fine on the iMac, but whatever. It should perform well on the MacBook anyway.

He has to be thrilled with the speed. My sigged Mac plays the game with no problems.

It will run wonderfully. I use to run it on a 1.33Ghz iBook fine.
