Still, cool video though... In a wasteful, disgusting sort of way.
I'll bet Miss Teen South Carolina* could've done more with that iPhone. Kids in South Africa could've used Google Maps. Hell, even U.S. Americans need good maps.

IIRC, it's some of the chemicals in the battery reacting with the air.
I'd say it's lithium oxide, but lithium oxide is white. May also be a silicon compound of some sort.
