I can't get to the original MacNN article, but TUAW has a spot about Apple applying for a docking station patent.

If such a beast were to come alive...I'd definitely consider one.

I'm a fan of the docking station idea. I'd rather have one machine and a docking station than have to worry about whether data is on the desktop or laptop machine, or if I remembered to copy it over prior to going on a trip.

I like the idea: slide your MacBook/MBP into a slot behind a display, and BAM-your MacBook/MBP is wearing iMac's clothes.
