I just picked up a new 2.8 Mac Pro and I'm trying to view all the cores in Activity Monitor but the dock icon only shows one bar instead of 8 bars. My previous 4 core Mac Pro would show 4 bars, one for each core.

What do I need to do to see all 8 bars?

Install the xCode tools and use the processor Prefpane to view all cores.

Also, you can use the iStat nano widget, or iStat menus to monitor your CPU activity... but you'll still ned to install xCode tools to view multiple cores.
