Ok, so I have a wireless router with standard WPA security on it which I use to get online with everything in my house... except for my stupid Nintendo DS which cannot connect to WPA. This has never been a big deal, but now that Advance Wars is online, I really want to be able to play it whenever I want.
Right now, I have to go into my router manually and switch it WEP everytime I want to get online with the DS... and then I have to remember to go and switch it back, because everything in my house is set to the other settings.
Very annoying.
Then I remembered that I have my old wireless router still and I figured I could hook it into my "main" router and use it just for the DS and nothing else.
Now, I'm obviously a complete networking noob, because when I tried to do this, I had obvious problems. Both devices had the same IP and everything got really confusing. I had to scrap the idea and reset everything.
I know that this is possible, I'm just a little unsure of the best way to do it. Can't I set the second router to have a different IP, WEP security and have it only accept the DS as a client? Is this even possible?
Thanks in advance guys. Both of my routers are Linksys. I can get model numbers later.
