I have someone that is harassing me. The District Attorneys office would like to hear their voicemails to me. Is there anyway I can download them from my iPhone and burn them to a disk?

Your voicemail is on AT&T's (or whoever's ) system. I'm not familiar with any way to download them. Voicemail systems aren't that open. One possibility is that you could plug your line in on your computer to your iPhone's stereo plug and then record while you play back the message on to the computer. You'll need an adapter.

You can pick up those 1/8" cables at Radio Shack and then use an app like Audacity to record.

In general you're right, voice mail systems aren't that open. But voip.com voice mail, which I use, is - it lets you download wav files of all your messages.

I found a way to do it. My phone is jailbroken. So I SSH'ed into it and found .amr files of all my voice mails. Even some I've deleted.
In case anyone wants to know where they are: private/var/root/library/voicemail
Quicktime will play the files perfectly. Anyone know of a way I can convert .amr files to mp3 so I can send them for other non Mac people to listen to them?

Not sure how helpful these will be:

Program for Converting .amr to mp3??? - Mac Forums

How to convert audio from mobile phone AMR to WAV ?

Could you use Quicktime Pro to save them as .mp3?

Just tested: Quicktime Pro can indeed export a .amr file to .wav or .aif, but not .mp3.

You can use Switch to go from AMR to MP3:

Download Audio File Format Converter Software

I'm not sure if you need the 'Plus' version to let you do this in one go, but I think you get the full version for free for 14 days. The free version is excellent anyway.
