Hi, I'm planning on buying a MacBook but have heard that software required for streaming sports matches etc. does not work on Leopard. If I install Windows on my MacBook using Bootcamp, then will the software (TVAnts, Sopcast etc.) work just like it does on a Windows-operated PC? And this is probably a very silly question, but does the working of software depend on the actual machine or the operating system? Also, would it be better for me to use Parallels or Bootcamp, so I can watch sports matches on my future MacBook?

It depends on the operating system - the machine determines how fast it will work

Bootcamp performs better than Parallels/Fusion at more intensive applications.
Depending on how demanding your streaming software are, there's a chance that Parallels may be fast enough, especially on the new MacBooks.

Yes. Windows on a MacBook is just like Windows on any other $1000 laptop.
