Any one tried screen sharing..
We are looking at trying to do remote working at work and we need people to be able to work on the same file at the same time.
Can anyone offer advice from experience.

When you say "we need people to be able to work on the same file at the same time", what EXACTLY do you mean ?
LOOKING at the same file while ONE person does the editing, or concurrently editing the same file ?
VNC is the industry standard for screen sharing. For PCs, you can have a look at the RealVNC packages.

I've said this in qnc's other thread: his timing is very suspicious.
A person that wants to "test" iChat out...to work on a file.
This morning there was news of trojans (exploiting a fairly big security hole in OS X) being downloaded via iChat and the web.
I wouldn't be surprised if qnc was trying to add some people to his buddy list and telling them "Here, help me test something out, download this file to see if we can work on it together." User clicks on file and it doesn't do anything. "Oh really? It doesn't work? Dang, oh well...thanks anyway."
I don't believe in coincidences as you may all tell. If qnc really isn't some guy taking advantage of this security hole, his timing couldn't have been any worse.

Screen sharing won't help with concurrent editing. Look at SubEthaEdit for that.
