I have a iPod Touch and was trying to install the new 2.1 firmware. I've tried for a day now and the iPod keeps disconnecting. I've tried to restore it, and the same thing happens. I can't even sync it anymore before it disconnects.

Anyone else having these issues?

I thought His Steveness said that 2.1 was going to be available on Friday (not today).

He said 2.1 was going to be available on Friday for iPhones. For the Touch, it's available now. Of course, I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole for another week or two, while I wait to hear which new bugs it's created.

Correct. iPod touch users get the update today while us iPhone users have to wait til Friday, for some reason.

My faith in Apple's ability to develop stable software is increasingly being crushed. It's to the point where I don't trust Apple's software at all.
