Hi all...
I have a bit of a weird problem. I went away for the weekend and left my roommate alone in our room. When I came back today, I discovered some strange milky residue on my expensive new keyboard. It appears to be a sticky white/clear liquid like gelatin and taste salty. My roommate swears he has no idea what happened, but had some people over last night.

I'm afraid if I power on my computer will it short circuit?? What should I do??

Thanks for any help.

OMGGG after further inspection and testing, it probably could be seminary fluids and I insisted he has to replace it, but he's a total cheapskate...

Yeah I will try to pry off the keys and soak them in some bleach or something!!

Anyone ever have a similar experience??

You put that in your mouth?

It shouldn't short circuit if it's already dry. It's been a day already so in the future I would have unplugged it and just wiped it down with a cloth as much as I could and then let it air dry.

I would then keep it unplugged and if there is anything dried and left over I would get a lightly damp cloth and wipe it clean and then let it dry again. You probably won't be able to get anything in between the keys unless you pop them out but you should be able to get the surfaces clean.

Next time password protect your computer so that your roommate's "friends" can't used your computer. It's just a good habit to password protect your computer when it's in a school environment or other "public" areas because some people don't have any manners and use your stuff like it was their own.

Okay, so if you wanna some money for it, throw it on ebay. If you want to be a dick, then blow your load on your friends pillow just to get back at him.

Just be grateful you don't have a laptop.

Yeah, I just sniffed it and some got onto my lips, no wonder it tasted soo familiar....

Awesome idea about the revenge pillow action ftw!! I'm sure some nut will buy it on Ebay too...

I have my user account password protected, but he's a linux geek and used it with an Ubuntu LiveCD -- forgoing OS X.

I'm surprised it took you so long to figure it out.

There's probably porn sites in the browser history if you go look.

I am very weary of this post, the picture looks like the residue is somewhat fresh.

Are you sure you weren't that one that blew his load on the keyboard and couldn't figure out what to do with it? Thus, creating this whole scenario with your roommate?

Kinda odd...

OK Professional Seminary Fluid Analyzer....

Wish I didn't have to meet a keyboard with some guys load on it... i was just shocked, didn't think he would do that.

Cant see if he was at any 'adult' sites, he was using a Linux LiveCD so no persistent data stored after.

Getting a new keyboard soon hopefully... its working OK for the while. I just lick my fingers....err.. wash my hands after.

This seems like a made up story...who wouldn't know what it was and why would you taste a random fluid...don't make sense to me...
